RAW Custom Knives by Reid A. Watkins www.facebook.com/rawknives
Growing up on a ranch in central Montana, I made my first knife when I was 10 years old. Working with a hacksaw and file, my goal was to build an unrivaled knife for performance and function. The methods, materials and approach have changed since that first endeavor, but the goal and employment of blood, sweat and elbow-grease to realize it have remained the same.
I build my knives one at a time, making sure each knife starts from concept through design to fit a form that is perfectly suited for the intended job. With meticulous attention to detail and seeking only the best of materials, I ensure a blade that will exceed expectations in sharpness and edge retention, from a knife that looks as sharp as it performs.
My ultralight series are the ideal option for the avid hunter. Each detail from blade thickness, to handle material and overall design are carefully considered for an optimum balance between usability, weight and size. Using some of my favorite selections of modern high-performance steel, an ultralight knife will work as long and hard in the field as you do. If you’re idea of a hunting knife is one that can double as an axe, an ultralight is not for you, but if you know how to work a blade through a joint, and around the bone an ultralight will provide everything you need in a weight and size that you will be thankful for at the end of a long day afield.
