M40A1 Rifle Stock (HTG/P)

The McMillan M40A1 Rifle Stock (HTG/P) is a faithful recreation of the iconic sniper stock issued to USMC Scout Snipers in the 1970s and ’80s. The HTG (Hunting-Tactical General Purpose) was one of the first purpose built tactical sniper rifle stocks.  This stock delivers authentic styling with modern performance enhancements. Precision inlet for a Remington 700 Short Action, M40A1 hinged floor plate, and a #7 Schneider barrel contour. *Rifle Components, Lug, Barrel and Bottom Metal are not included.

Constructed from durable fiberglass with sniper fill and precision-fit aluminum pillars, the M40A1 stock provides rock-solid stability and rugged dependability. The M40A1 rifle stock features a molded-in Forest Camo finish that pays tribute to original USMC field rifles.

Additional features include two Wichita swivel loops for sling compatibility, a 1/2″ brown presentation recoil pad, and a fixed 13.5” length of pull—offering a classic fit for traditional precision shooters. Weighing in at approximately 3.5 lbs., this stock balances maneuverability with military-grade durability.
